Percocet & French Philosophy

I had my lower, right, impacted wisdom tooth a few hours ago, and boy has that been hurting me since! My only trick this Halloween will be to stay in tonight with a bottle of Percocet & codein, and read a bit of the work of an obscure, 19th century, French political-philosopher by the name of Benjamin Constant. Fortunately, M. Constant seems to be a fairly intelligent fellow (educated, apparently, in Scotland, in that country's philosophic tradition), so the reading is more of a pleasure than a task.

Tasks do still present themselves, however. I need to prepare a presentation on Plato's simile of the divided line (The Republic, Book VI) for this coming Thursday. I'll also need to type-up my notes on Grant's relationship with Leo Strauss, and hire a five-piece blues band for out upcoming, ginormous Christmas dance in Montreal. It'll all be quite interesting.
