ConcordiaDS

Well, I finally managed to secure some practice space at Concordia University's downtown campus, which means we'll be able to hold dance classes starting this Saturday, the 14th. Now I just need to secure my dance partner for a couple of hours, and we're all set. :-7

Initially, I think we'll host a couple of workshops on East Coast Swing. Despite arguments to the contrary, I think it's easier to teach in a group classroom setting than Lindy Hop. In the latter case, without individual attention, I think it's too likely some guy would end up yanking his partner's arm out of her socket - 'laird only knows I've known enough guys who do just that, and it's a hell of a clean-up job.

Amusingly, now that I've successfully ignored the University chain-of-command, and booked club space without actually having a legitimate club, the Concordia Student Union (CSU) Vice-President of Clubs wants to reopen the proposal I originally gave them in July. It's amusing, because after running through the whole rig'a'marole with she & hers, that same proposal was dismissed without logical cause. Either my reply to the decision was taken more seriously than I expected, or else someone in the Council made an issue of it (Did I mention that I had the support of the Council President, and the VP of Services from the get-go?). Or, the "reasonings" that I was given for the dismissal were a smokescreen for some other shenanigans that were going on behind the scenes, and which is no longer an issue.

Either way, the whole bit is stupid, but I'll be meeting with the "Clubs Committee" on Friday, after a University Writing Test. If I walk in, though, and they're again sitting about eating cake instead of introducing themselves, someone will end-up pulling some "Betty Crocker" out of their sinus cavities. Or I'll just flip them off and leave. Whichever. It's nice to have options. :-)

But if the personal is political, wouldn't that require collective suicide?

Hah! I knew it - you're no solipsist, you're a radical nihilist! Kill them all, and let no one sort it out! All hail the great Void! :-)
