The Groundwork and the Golden Mean

'Read five pages of Kant's Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals, met with a student who's writing a term-paper on said philosopher, attended a Graduate Academic Caucus meeting, rested my brain with an hour or two of .Hack//SIGN, and now I'm back home.

I'd carried my dancing shoes with me today, in preparation for the off chance that I'd feel up to dancing. No such luck. I did run into A.P. and his wife the train, though, and we had a fun time. We compared reasons for pursuing a Ph.D, slammed on positivism for a bit, and griped about Lacan's writing.

My task for this evening is to send letters off to the people to whom I owe them; particularly Professors Poirier and Darby, and A-M. I'd like to get started on the Heidegger reading which I need to do, but I might have to settle, at best, with a Dreyfus lecture. More likely, I'll end-up reading Annabelle Lyon's The Golden Mean.
