Whence and Wither that spirit?

Attending a three-hour discussion group on Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit after getting home at three o'clock in the morning (this resulting from a night of jazz and swing dancing with friends): it makes for a full and fun weekend, but wouldn't recommend it as a regular practice! Coffee only gets one so far, after all. To avoid walking into a lamp-post, it was necessary to replenish myself with a soup & burger at the Heart & Crown on Laurier, after parting ways with J.B. and Sagi. Stopped-by All Books to pick-up a copy of Charles Taylor's The Malaise of Modernity which the owner was holding for me. By sheer happenstance, 'also discovered a signed copy of Bankrupt Education: The Decline of Liberal Education in Canada by Peter C. Emberley and Waller R. Newell on the bargain table out front. Fancy that!

Have a letter and invitation to drinks to send through a friend. The rest of the evening shall consist of a shower, and maintaining consciousness until a reasonable time of night. Coffee with T.L. tomorrow. 'Might need more sleep in the future...

Well, we all know what they say about the owl of Minerva flying at dusk... The dark side is sort of implied.

That's when the abstract mice of the spirit are all out in the fields.

Ah, so Hegelians are a lot of rodent eaters are they? Seems like a less than prestigious position to occupy in the Grand Scheme of Things.
