The things we do for love

Ah, playmates of the very world! How I love thee, let me count the ways! Do I love you as the pleasures of mortal desires, and the hot, threaded pull of genetic need, or like the burning touch of victory's torch on water-streaked skin? Shall I love you as a lover of Wisdom, take you to my soul as I would the Muse herself, and have you ply your kisses to my mind with the lips of sweet Sophia? What Good, what Platonic love shall we know when in touching we strive for that right Ideal; what Form shall we have when the Sun's blinding self has left our vision dark to all others?

My Good Sophias, how radiant you are, and how good to see you again!

Plato and Aristotle at the Academy, by Raphael

(With regards, for V.B, N.D, J.F, C.R, E, S.A, F.M, A.C, A-M.B, A-M.L, D.L, D.C, and the many other beautiful women I have known.)
