Iris & Aphrodite

(For A-M)

"A self struck into clenching malady,
By Our Lady Aphrodite,
Stricken to release by
The peaceable crash of a thunder clap,
The piecing flash of the lightning's strokes,
The deep roll of clouds,

There now, an open, dusky eye unwetted
Amidst the widening gyre of vaulting storm
An unwary Iris greeting a crackling heaven
A wakeful participant in being, in body incarnate
There, in bed, in body,
No self in Eros' gyre

A centred now in Dia's storm."
