Reassignment.

My new flatmate should be stopping by tomorrow to sign her name to the lease-assignment contract that transfers the apartment from under my father's name. My parents will both be moving on by July 1st, thus relieving a great many financial difficulties that are constraining the family.

One such difficulty relates to the fact that my father is currently burdened with (most of) the expense of a 5.5 room apartment in Monkland Village. The second such difficulty is that the Regie in charge of student loans has refused me a full bursary on account of a (poorly worded) regulation that asseses my financial assets upwards because I'm sharing space with a parent; this feeds into difficulty number one. That's not to mention the fact that I'm barely recieving enough to study and eat; a situation that should ameliorate when my father moves to his new flat, my mother returns home after months of convalscense, and I request the Regie to reassess my assets back to sane proportions.

... Or the Island will be struck by a meteorite the size of St. Justine Hospital and we'll all perish in a blazing inferno; 'even odds either way, I figure. ^_^

How was the lawsuit against the university going? I always wanted to smack that smirk off those administrators when I was young. But I was just another one of those poor student with no power.

The examinations office seems to have backed-off from the "our way or the highway" position as a result of a talk I had with the student advocate & the university ombudsman. It remains to be seen whether or not they'll actually fulfill their obligations; the paperwork only gets done after the examinations period is over.

man, those student loan people screw you every time. I had to get a part-time job to keep eating this semester too, and that's only because I already maxed out the visa eating last semester. :( good luck!

I've done the entire "work + school" regime when I was a younger lad, but while I ate well, I slept 'naught at all. Given the choice in my latter years, I chose the more slimming paradigm of "focus on studies + ramen noodles diet". Seriously; I keep a case of ramen in my locker! ^_^
