The Symposium

As of the time of this passing week, I've finished reading Plato's "Symposium", and thus added another tally to a list that now includes the aforementioned, as well as "The Republic", "The Apology" by Plato, "Crito", and "Phaedo" (several of which are available in electronic format from my Wiki, as well as from the original sources at Project Gutenberg through the links in the preceeding text).

So then, having digested the titular tome - and having experienced similarly themed works by St.Paul and Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi - I'm all ears if anyone cares to offer an argument on the nature of love; comparing understandings is an interesting thing. ^_^

For instance, one could say: "Love is a minor emotion with some practical survival value; it increases the odds of the reproductive sexes rubbing their respective genetalia together in a useful manner."
